Top of the “Super Trials” List

Butler Tobin ranks again! In 2015, Courtroom View Network (CVN) named Butler Wooten’s Jim Butler, Butler Tobin’s Jeb Butler, and Floyd & Kendrick’s George Floyd’s Walden v Chrysler Group LLC the NUMBER ONE verdict of 2015. Now, in 2016 CVN is listing their Super 6 trials in the state and holding the top of the list is…. Walden V. Chrysler Group LLC! CVN wrote:
“While verdicts are important in the Super 6 selection process, legal impact and trail storylines also play a key role in designating the elite trials of the year…[t]he trial featured Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Fiat Chrysler, answering why his company rejected federal recommendations that the vehicle be recalled and trying to explain allegedly “secret” meetings with federal officials. “Chrysler had plenty of opportunities to protect families like the Waldens,” Jeb Butler told jurors in closing. “But they didn’t. Instead they chose to protect their bottom line.”

With its 150-million-dollar verdict, Walden v. Chrysler Group LLC is nationally recognized as one of the eight largest verdicts in history against carmakers. In this case, and in all of their cases, Butler Tobin is honored to have the opportunity to work with people and their families in achieving justice for the injured.

In this wrongful death trial stemming from a car accident (and that involved a product liability component), Butler Tobin gave part of the closing arguments. The jury returned a verdict of $150 million.
